Biography

Edward Cobert

Four years ago, he was named the head of the Caribbean-based Olympus Project which was dedicated to the development of a a new breed of superhumans that were answerable directly to the President of the United States. This was in response to the fears over the plethora of superhumans that were operating independently. Those in charge of the project believed that the nation would benefit from super-operatives that had more direct government ties. (Defenders v1 #126)

For three years, he remained shackled and sedated in a top-secret security cell beneath S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Manhattan complex. (Defenders v1 #126)

Overview

Personality and attributes

Initially, after gaining powers, he went by the name of Leviathan. (Defenders v1 #126)

He took part in the effort to create a new breed of superheroes that were answerable to the government. However, Cobert along with his associates wanted to go a step beyond that as he wanted to eradicate the older independent superhumans who operated as heroes. Edward looked to find and kill them where he thought this would be fun. (Defenders v1 #126)

Powers and abilities

He was noted to had been a brilliant scientist. (Defenders v1 #126)

Originally, he was an ordinary human until he took part in the experiments to create more superhumans whereupon he was transformed into a muscled giant figure. As a result of his transformation, his mind became warped to the point that weak brain blasts were ineffective against him. (Defenders v1 #126)
