Garm (Doctor Who)

The Garm was a canine humanoid under the control of the Vanir. He was attempting to cure the victims of Lazar's Disease on the space station Terminus, using the radiation from the vessel's engines. With the Fifth Doctor's companion, Nyssa, he finally succeeded in finding a cure, and the Doctor freed him from Vanir control in exchange for helping to save Terminus. The Vanir protested, until the Doctor pointed out that the Garm would have willingly helped them if they'd just asked. Thereafter, the Garm continued his duties, and Nyssa stayed behind with him to help heal the sick on Terminus.
