Biography

The human Tyran had discovered a mystical artifact known as the Black Pearl that he intended to take to his compatriots at the ruins of Manhat. Upon learning of this, Gemini had his servants in the Groundlings to intercept the courier and acquire the relic. The Groundlings succeeded in capturing Tyran but were attacked by Thundarr, Ariel and Ookla forcing the rat-men to flee. They later reported their failure to Gemini who was angered by their inability to accomplish their task. He, however, gifted them with energy weapons and motorcycles where they were told not to fail otherwise the would suffer the consequences. Despite their new aids, the Groundlings once again failed to which Gemini stated he would punish them for at a later time. At this point, he decided to personally lead the recovery of the Black Pearl alongside his robotic Knights that took a helicopter to Manhat. Once there, they captured Ariel but Gemini failed to get the mystical artifact as it protected Thundarr from his magic. With Ariel as a hostage, Gemini departed and told Thundarr to give him the relic otherwise he would not see Ariel again. Thundarr and Ookla later stormed his fortress situated not far from Manhat through the captured helicopter. During the confrontation with Thundarr, Ariel used the distraction to cast a spell that caused the wizard's visor to lock on his face preventing him from seeing. This allowed Thundarr to escape with Ariel and Ookla on horse back to Manhat but a vengeful Gemini pursued them whilst afloat on a thundercloud. He demanded the Black Pearl once more otherwise the human commune at Manhat would be destroyed. The community refused Gemini's demands and he enchanted the Statue of Liberty to attack his enemies where magical flames formed on its torch that it directed at its enemies. Thundarr, Ariel and Ookla were powerless against the giant statue until the barbarian thought that the enchanted statues weakness was magic. Thus, Thundarr took the Black Pearl and through it at the statue where it embedded within the stone neutralizing the magic on it. This strike both hurt Gemini banishing back to his fortress and removed the magic over the Statue of Liberty turning it back into an inanimate structure once more that stood tall over the ruined city of Manhat.
