Biography

Genos (Japanese: ジェノス, Hepburn: Jenosu) was a male human born in the modern age on Earth. When he was 15 years old, he was a regular boy who lived a happy and peaceful life with his family. This was until their town was attacked by a crazy rampaging cyborg who destroyed it and killed his family. Genos managed to miraculously survive though would have died had he not ben found by Dr. Kuseno who had been pursuing the cyborg which led to him passing through the town. The boy came to beg Dr. Kuseno to transform him into a cyborg with the man agreeing to do so leading to Genos transformation with cybernetics. Reborn, he came to decide to be a hero for justice and looked to find the cyborg responsible for killing his family and destroying them.

One of his quarries was Mosquito Girl who was heading for Z-City and had drained the blood from anything on her path. While Mosquito Girl was in the middle of her rampage in Z-City, she noticed that quite a few of her mosquitoes have died and looking down, she spotted a form swarmed by mosquitoes. She sends more bugs at the form, but they are all incinerated, revealing Genos. He has a stern expression on his face and declares that he will eliminate Mosquito Girl. Genos fires a blast at her, but she easily dodged his attack and dives at him, taking his arm in the process, but in return he takes out both her legs. Mosquito Girl then flies away and summons all of her mosquitoes to give her their blood. Genos says that her efforts are useless, but is concerned when he sees the amount of bugs gathering around her. As he was about to charge his incinerator, Saitama came running out on the street. Genos warned the so-called civilian, but Mosquito Girl's swarm of mosquitoes comes crashing down on them in an instant. Genos releases his heat beam and burns all the bugs, while telling his foe that making them attack in one big crowd makes it far easier to burn them. He realizes that Saitama was still in the area, but was shocked to see that he is fine, with only his clothes burned. Mosquito Girl, now evolved, rushes down and appears behind Genos, cutting him almost completely in half. Genos then attempts to attack her but she dodges and begins to attack him continuously to the point that he attempts to self destruct in order to kill her. Before that can happen, Saitama ungracefully smacks Mosquito Girl in the face, sending her crashing through a building and into the distance. Genos, greatly surprised by this, asks Saitama his name and for Genos to become Saitama's disciple.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Within the Hero Association, he came to take the alias of the Demon Cyborg (鬼サイボーグ, Oni Saibōgu).

Typically, Genos was shown to be an extremely serious character who rarely if ever make any jokes. He constantly aimed to become stronger and more powerful hero. As such, he was an intense person who was unyielding in his pursuits.

Genos had shown a certain degree of pride in his abilities and himself.

He frequently looked to Saitama for advice to achieve his goals.

There were two people that Genos fully respected with the first being Saitama and the other being Dr. Kuseno.

He extended professional respect to those who demonstrated genuine expertise.

In contrast, he was rather disrespectful to almost anyone else especially those who attempt to interrupt or pester Saitama.

Powers and abilities

Originally, Genos had been an ordinary human being until the destruction of his home. Dr. Kuseno was responsible for replacing his entire body with combat-ready cybernetics and prosthetics. This was responsible for giving an extreme level of strength and speed along with other features including advanced sensors and projectile weapons. He had detachable and recallable arms where his limbs could be retrieved with a cable.

Such was his power that he came to be ranked as an S-Class hero. According to Gyoro Gyoro, his functionality was terrifyingly proficient but he lacked the firepower to take down something big and durable such as the Elder Centipede. Despite that, he had shown the ability to grow stronger over time. The Virtual Genocide System's (VGS) simulations showed Genos at the time had a 70% chance of victory against any disaster level demon monster.

A key source of his power was an energy sphere within his cyborg frame known as the Core (コア, Koa) which was attached to him by a single cable and held within his chest.

Genos's cyborg body contained several passive and active Hyper Sensors (ハイパーセンサー, Haipāsensā) which allowed him to scan the environment, such as detecting living organisms, fast approaching objects, high-energy bodies and many other anomalies, thus keeping him on guard. However; the sensors are not perfect, as they can still be confused by the extreme speed of an opponent

His Incineration Cannons (焼却砲, Shōkyaku-hō) were weapons fired from his palms that contained ports which allowed him to fire large, powerful blasts of heat, fire, or plasma across significant distances.

For mobility, he had a number of Boosters (ブースター, Būsutā) equipped on his body on the shoulders and elbows which when engaged allowed for amazing acceleration and limited flight.
