Biography

Origin

Brion Markov was a male human born to the royal family of Markovia where he was the son of King Viktor Markov. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

He was born as the twin brother of Gregor Markov and they later ad a younger sister who was named Tara Markov. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

He and his brother Gregor were at their father's side when King Viktor was on his deathbed. As per his final wishes, he named Gregor his successor and wanted the brothers to work together in making their homeland a safe place. He then asked them to find their younger sister Tara with him saying that he loved all his children as he passed away. Following the death, Dr. Helga Jace wanted continued funding for her experiments though Prince Gregor was prepared t end further support for her. However, Brion convinced his brother to allow the research to continue Dr. Jace's research where he participated in the experiment that gave him the ability to manipulate Geo-Forces. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

He later had a scientist named Dr. Alina Raileanu perform a check-up on him on his powers. (Justice League of America v2 #5)

Brion came to join the newest incarnation of the Justice League. (Justice League of America v2 #8)

It was said that he was always high-strung to the point of being obnoxious. (Justice League of America v2 #7)

He was the son of King Viktor Markov who was of the royal family of Markovia. He was noted to had loved all his children where he desired them to work together and to keep the nation safe. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

Brion had a twin brother named Gregor Markov and a younger sister named Tara Markov. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

Powers and abilities

He was given his abilities by Dr. Helga Jace who empowered him to be able to control geo-forces that were derived from the Earth itself. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

Initially, he had a range of abilities from increasing gravity on objects allowing him to render bullets harmless by causing them to fall to the ground. In another instance, he was able to fire lava blasts capable of melting metallic objects. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

Brion was shown to had later manifested powers similar to his sister Terra where he was able to control the earth and shape it according to his will. (Justice League of America v2 #7)

He was shown as being capable of determining the number of bodies dead deep underground where he commented that the 'earth' had told him. (Outsiders v4 #16)

In one instance, he was shown to had turned a person to stone through touch. (Outsiders v4 #25)

By submerging himself underground, he was able to heal himself through his connection with the earth. (Batman and the Outsiders Special v2 #1)

His home was noted for being Castle Markov located within the small European country of Markovia. (Batman and the Outsiders v1 #1)

  • Geo-Force was created by Mike W. Barr and Jim Aparo where he made his first appearance in Brave and the Bold v1 #200 (July, 1983).

  • In the Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Geo-Force appeared in the setting of the animated television series in the episode "Requiem for a Scarlet Speedster!" where he was voiced by actor Hunter Parrish.
  • In Arrow, Dr. Brion Markov appeared in the live-action television series set in the Arrowverse in the episode "Darkness on the Edge of Town" where he was portrayed by actor Eric Floyd.
  • In Young Justice: Outsiders, Brion Markov appeared in the animated television series third season Outsiders where he was voiced by actor Troy Baker.
