George Lansing

George Lansing was a successful lawyer and the husband of Anne Lansing, who was cheating on him without his knowledge. Driving home from work one night, George happened upon the scene of a hit-and-run. A hitchhiker had been struck by another car, a Mercedes, which George and other bystanders glimpsed briefly leaving the scene. Stopping to see if he could help, George called 911 on his car phone. However it was too late. The hitchhiker was dead. By the time everything had been sorted out with the police, the usually punctual George was late getting home. As he pulled up to his house however he discovered Anne's battered Mercedes sitting in the garage, and was shocked to discover his wife sitting dead in the front seat with a sign around her neck saying "Dover."

• George Lansing appeared in The Hitchhiker, the third and final segment of Creepshow 2.
• It is not known if George ever suspected whether the Mercedes he saw speeding away from the accident belonged to his wife, or if he made the connection upon finding Anne's car in such a wrecked state.
