  • Gillian B. Loeb was created by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli where he made his first appearance in Batman v1 #404 (February 1987).

Television

  • In Gotham, the character appeared in the first season where he was portrayed by actor Peter Scolari. Loeb was shown as being the police commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department but was secretly allied with mob boss Carmine Falcone. In season 2, the episode "Damned If You Do" showed Commissioner Loeb being responsible for demoting James Gordon to a traffic cop before firing him insubordination. This was until Gordon made a deal crime lord Oswald Copplepot who had Loeb resign as Commissioner with Sarah Essen replacing him as head of the GCPD.

Films

  • In Batman: Year One, Gillian B. Loeb appeared as an antagonist in the animated film adaptation where he was voiced by actor Jon Polito. He was the corrupt Commissioner of the Gotham police who had numerous conspiracy charges made against him but the witnesses always disappeared.

Video games

  • In Batman: Arkham Origins, Gillian Loeb made an appearance in the video game here actor John Polito once more voiced the character. He was show as being the Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department who had secretly been helping Black Mask. When the Batman emerged, Black Mask believed that Commissioner Loeb was trying to undercut him by going for a clean slate and not engage in corrupt activities. As a result, Black Mask abducted him and had Loeb thrown into a gas chamber where he was killed before Batman could save him.
