Biography
Gorr was a male alien inhabitant born on a planet without a name who was born over 3,000 years ago. The world he lived on was an arid barren planet with little in the terms of food and whose primitive people believed in their gods. His father was said to had died after contracting sun fever with his mother caring for him. In those years, his mother maintained her belief in their gods and taught this to her son who expressed confusion at the time over these views. It was then that they were beset upon by sand tigers and his mother told him to run away to safety whilst she fought the beasts where she was killed at their hands but the young Gorr was given the chance to live by running away. He managed to survive over the years to adulthood where he came to find a mate named Arra who bore many of his children. These years were hard for the tribe as there was little in the terms of food to support them with everyone starving. At the time, Arra was pregnant where she urged her husband to maintain faith in the gods providing for them. It as then that an earthquake affected the caverns where they were dwelling with Arra perishing in the disaster. Months later, Gorr's only son to had survived the disaster and food shortage was Agar when the tribe were relocating to a place that was said to contain a forest. Gorr promised his son that this lush land awaited them with waterfalls and food but his son died from hunger where he buried his child but had no water for his tears over his offspring's death. He looked to bury his child in a grave which was forbidden by people's faith as they hung their dead so that the gods could see them and usher them into the sky. However, Gorr had come to lose patience with the belief in the gods and told the tribe that there were no deities. This caused the tribe to turn on him for his blasphemy where he was declared an outcast and exile with them abandoning him behind as they went out for a new home. (Thor: God of Thunder v1 #6)
Stricken with grief after Agar's death, Gorr gave up hope and outwardly expressed his belief that there were no gods, for which he was exiled by his superstitious people. While wandering the desert praying to die, Gorr witnessed a pair of battling gods—a dark elder god called Knull and a gold-armored purple-skinned god who plunged out of the sky and crash-land nearby. Shocked by the realization that gods did exist, Gorr was enraged when the gold-armored god begged for help; the dark god's sword transforming into an amorphous mass of living darkness and bonding to him. Gorr used his new weapon, All-Black the Necrosword, to kill the gold-armored god; then vowed to seek vengeance against all gods for never answering his prayers, and set out to kill them all. (Thor: God of Thunder v1 #6) Gorr despised any god and travelled the cosmos for thousands of years to exact his revenge, embarking on a deicidal crusade in which he allegedly killed many gods of fear, war, chaos, genocide, revenge, plagues, earthquakes, blood, wrath, jealousy, death, degradation, and a few gods of poetry and flowers. (Thor: God of Thunder v1 #5)
In the 9th century, Gorr arrived on Earth and killed a god from the Americas; the body washing up on the shores of Iceland, where it was found by Thor. (Thor: God of Thunder v1 #1)
Gorr's consciousness was contained inside All-Black, finally at peace in an empty void without gods. (King Thor v1 #2)
