Biography
Vernita Green (? - 2003) was a female human raised on the tough streets of inner-city New York, spent her entire childhood fighting for survival, and winning her battles. At an unknown point, she became a protégé of the man called Bill, and joined his Deadly Viper Assassination Squad becoming one of the world's most ruthless assassins, and specializing in knife-fighting. She earned herself the codename: Copperhead.
In 1999, Vernita and the rest of the DiVAS on Bill's orders attacked the wedding party in El Paso, Texas, of one of their former comrades; Beatrix Kiddo, wiping out the entire party, while Bill shot Beatrix in the head, putting her in a coma.
Shortly after the wedding massacre, Vernita retired from the DiVAS, married a Dr. Bell, and with him had a daughter named Nikki. But four years later, Beatrix (now known as the Bride) awoke from her coma and began a revenge mission against the DiVAS. Vernita was her second target.
The Bride attacked Vernita in her suburban home in Pasadena, California but were interrupted when Nikki came home from school. Vernita and The Bride agreed on plans to meet in the late night for a knife-fight to the death, but this was just to give herself a few moments as Vernita tried to shoot The Bride with a gun hidden in a cereal box, but missed and was killed herself by The Bride who threw a knife through her heart.

As a member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, she came to earn herself the codename of Copperhead.
After retiring as an assassin, she came to take the alias of Jeannie Bell after marrying a doctor named Lawrence Bell. During this time, she came to have a daughter with him who they named Nikkia Bell.
Powers and abilities
Vernita Green was an ordinary human being with no inherent special powers. From her childhood, she came to lead a rough live living on the tough streets of New York where she had to constantly fight for her survival. By adulthood, she came to be trained in the arts of assassination at the hands of Bill. According to Bill, Vernita was the best woman with an edged weapon he had ever seen in his life.
After being trained as an assassin, she came to join a number of her fellow killers as they became part of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad.
