Heather

Heather was an Efrafan doe who was notorious for her many attempts to escape. Although the warren she originally came from was, by her own admission, a dump, she preferred it to being a slave in Efrafa. Following the apparent death of Campion, his replacement, Moss, secretly contacted Heather and asked her if she would aide him in overthrowing Woundwort. Although Heather was initially skeptical of Moss, she soon came to trust him and, along with several other does, staged an attack from within Efrafa at the same time as the Watershippers invaded the warren.

Following the liberation of Efrafa and the defeat of Woundwort, Heather went to live at Watership Down with the others, where she was fought over by Hawkbit and Dandelion. She told Clover, when asked who she preferred, that love never entered into the equation in Efrafa, and she would settle with whoever was strongest between Hawkbit and Dandelion. Clover rightly told her that there was plenty of room for love on Watership Down, and thus Heather chose Moss to be her mate.
