Biography

Helius was born in ancient times during the reign of the Greek gods on Earth. He was the son of Perseus and Io though his mother died shortly after his birth. Perseus had promised Io that he would forever care for their son and never involve him in the affairs of the gods or warriors. As a result, he never trained Helius in the arts of being a warrior but instead raised him as a mortal in a fishing village to maintain the life of a simple fisherman.

By the age of ten, mankind had lost much faith in the Greek gods which sapped them of their power. As a result, their great work began to become undone as their magic was powered by mortal faith. Without it, the prisons they had done for the ancient menaces of the world began to fall apart. This was only fastened by the manipulation of Hades who intended to release his father Kronos from his prison in Tartarus. The act saw many monstrous beasts descend onto the Earth where a Chimera attempted to ravage Perseus's village. Perseus battled the creature to save his son and learnt of the dangers coming to the world of mortals. Thus, he took Helius to travel to the Mount of Idols which was the closest place to the heavens and where once people had come to worship the gods. The temple had fallen into ruin but Perseus attempted to call on Helius's grandfather Zeus but received no call. Instead, a wounded Poseidon arrived and revealed that a dark alliance was struck between Hades with Ares where they captured Zeus. Their plan was to use the king of the gods power to free Kronos from his imprisonment with the Titan promising those that served him their immortality. Poseidon told Perseus that all the gods had vanished and begged him to save Zeus from Hades. As Perseus was a half-god, he needed the aid of another demigod such as Poseidon's son Agenor whereupon Helius was taken back to his village whilst his father went on a quest to enter into Tartarus.
