- Hermes was created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru where he made his first appearance in Wonder Woman v2 #105 (1959).

- In Justice League Unlimited, Hermes made an appearance in the DC Animated Universe series episode "The Balance" where he was voiced by actor Jason Bateman. He was one of the Greek gods who served as the messenger and claimed that he was the original speedster. After Felix Faust overthrew Hades, magic was in upheaval as the underworld fell to Chaos. Zeus dispatched Hermes to pass a command to Wonder Woman on the Watchtower in Earth's orbit. He was in her room where he passed the message and task to the Amazon.
