Biography

Hiro Takachiho

Hiro spent his time as a thirteen-year-old prodigy in Tokyo, where he adamantly refused to join the government-sanctioned super-team known as Big Hero 6 despite the persistent recruitment efforts of the Silver Samurai. He preferred to focus on his own mechanical inventions within his private laboratory, particularly the construction of a robotic bodyguard he named Baymax, which he programmed with the brain patterns of his recently deceased father. His quiet life was interrupted when his mother was kidnapped by the Everwraith, a terrifying astral entity composed of the souls of those lost in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. Driven by a desperate need to save her, Hiro finally relented and sought out the Silver Samurai at the Giri Industrial Corporation, officially agreeing to join the team in exchange for their help. He quickly integrated himself into the group, meeting teammates like Honey Lemon and Go-Go Tomago, and utilized his vast intellect to help track the spectral villain's energy signature to the ruins of Hiroshima. During the ensuing battle, Hiro courageously piloted Baymax into combat, transforming the robot into a powerful synthetic dragon to physically confront the Everwraith. Although he struggled with the emotional weight of seeing his father's likeness in the machine, he remained focused on the mission, ultimately playing a crucial role in the tactical strike that forced the entity to retreat and allowed for his mother's rescue. Takachiho travelled with the rest of Big Hero 6 to the devastated remains of Hiroshima, where he monitored the escalating energy readings produced by the Everwraith. As the spectral entity prepared to ignite a nuclear chain reaction using the lingering souls of the city, Hiro coordinated a desperate defensive strategy alongside Sunfire and Silver Samurai. He took to the skies atop the transformed, draconic Baymax, using the robot's scanners to pinpoint the villain's ethereal core while dodging massive blasts of necrotic energy. When the Everwraith attempted to merge with the earth itself to trigger a tectonic disaster, Hiro recalibrated Baymax’s internal systems to provide a tactical opening for his teammates' elemental attacks. He maintained his composure even as the emotional imprints of his father within Baymax’s programming reacted to the surrounding spirits, ensuring the machine stayed focused on the mission. Through his precise calculations and aerial maneuvering, he helped contain the blast, ultimately witnessing the entity’s dispersal as the team successfully neutralised the threat to Japan. Following the victory, Hiro stood with his mother and his new allies, finally accepting his role within the group and acknowledging that his technological brilliance was needed for more than just private research.
