Hobbits

Hobbits were a race of humanoids who were almost identical to humans save for their short stature and large, hairy feet. A peaceful people, hobbits generally enjoyed farming, nature, and relaxing activities, although there were exceptions such as Smeagol and Bilbo Baggins.

It was suggested by Tolkien that the hobbits eventually became the reclusive "little people" of English, Scottish and Irish legend. The Dungeons and Dragons game originally included hobbits, which were later changed into halflings when copyright issues were raised.
