Horde (Xena)

The Horde was a band of savage warriors, noted for their ferocity and berserk nature. Xena fought them on three occasions. In the first, a good number of Xena's men were slaughtered, leading to a hatred of them that was ended by Gabrielle during the second encounter, where they defended a small expeditionary force at a fort from the savage warriors.

In the third, Xena rescued a girl who was kidnapped by the Horde as a young child and was adopted by the tribe's leader. Her "rescue" was seen as a kidnapping, and Xena narrowly averted a war between the Horde and the village the girl had come from, with the help of the girl herself. It was revealed that the Horde was not a tribe of mindless killing machines, but were actually fighting to protect the encroachment upon the environment of settlers in their territory.
