History

The Hordeculture was a collaborative group of scientists that were dedicated in reducing Earth's population and turn the world into a paradise state. (X-Men v5 #3)

Several members of Hordeculture initiated a targeted tactical strike against a Krakoan gateway biome located within the Savage Land. The elite octogenarian scientists bypassed mutant security perimeters, successfully infiltrating the dense jungle facility to access the ecosystem's baseline genetics. Upon encountering the island's botanical research outpost, the team ambushed the mutant inhabitants, quickly incapacitating the young heroes Pixie and Anole with custom-formulated biochemics. When the senior X-Men leadership consisting of Cyclops, Emma Frost, and Sebastian Shaw arrived to intercept the breach, Hordeculture deployed their specialized mechanical countermeasures. They soundly defeated the mutant response team, successfully subduing the heavy-hitting leadership while extracting pristine bio-samples from the Krakoan gate network. The team then withdrew from the Savage Land with their stolen data, retreating to their subterranean laboratory base to begin breaking down the living island's genetic code. (X-Men v5 #3)

Overview

In appearance, the Hordeculture was a collaboration of likeminded agrochemists, biotechnologists and bio-engineers who specialised in the genetic manipulation and propagation of botanical life. Its goal was the radical depopulation of humanity and returning the planet to what was considered a more pristine state. They were a highly disciplined, radical faction of elderly eco-terrorists, bio-engineers, and agronomists who operated as an independent global collective. They functioned as a deeply cynical and hyper-intellectual cell, maintaining an entirely professional, mocking, and cold demeanor toward the superhero community and human corporate interests alike. The group operated under a strict collaborative hierarchy, utilizing their advanced years and unassuming senior aesthetics to mask their true nature as ruthless planet-scale resource planners. Their overarching objective focused on seizing absolute, centralized control over the entire global food supply within ten years to dictate who eats and starves, seeking to aggressively manage human population expansion. Regarding their clothing and costumes, the scientists wore identical, high-tech white environmental hazmat suits styled with heavy yellow protective plating, localized respirator masks, and mechanical visual lenses. This sterile, heavily insulated armor contrasted sharply with their physical status as elderly human women, projecting an image of clinical authority and clinical menace during their botanical raids. (X-Men v5 #3)

The agents of Hordeculture demonstrated a specialized, world-class command of advanced agrochemistry, bio-engineering, and tailored electronic warfare during their operation in the Savage Land. Individual members exhibited unparalleled expertise in synthetic biology, allowing them to reverse-engineer living organic matters and weaponize botanical systems instantly. For defense, their specialized tactical environmental suits insulated them from standard physical damage, kinetic impacts, and extreme localized climates. Their offensive capabilities relied entirely on advanced technological innovations, utilizing specialized energy rifles and pneumatic chemical launchers capable of firing fast-acting neural paralyzers. Additionally, the group possessed high-level hacking systems designed to manipulate mutant biotech networks, effectively overriding and hacking the genetic security locks of the Krakoan gates through external data links. (X-Men v5 #3)

It was known that the group had performed genetic modifications to their own bodies. (X-Men v5 #3)

Their base of operations was the Green Thumb that was a mobile headquarters designed and built by Edith Scutch. (X-Men v5 #3)
