Biography

The Hybrid was originally known as Diana who was part of an unknown organization and was dispatched into S.H.I.E.L.D. to serve as a double agent. Once inside the organization, she became involved partly with Gabriel Jones in order to lull him in a state of complacency. She was sent into the S.H.I.E.L.D sea base in order to locate an aquatic parasitic hybrid lifeform that was being cultivated by the organization to serve as a means of improving their infiltration methods. Whilst attempting to capture some of the creatures, she was discovered by Agent Gabriel Jones and during the struggle she fell into the pool with the organisms. As she fell inside, the creatures attacked her and seemingly devoured her. Her body was buried out at sea despite her being a double agent.

However, Diana had not died but transformed by the creatures into a parasitic lifeform that became known as the Hybrid. Using her new abilities, she sought to get her revenge against Gabriel, S.H.I.E.L.D. and the world. To accomplish this, she required the use of the Hulk. But rather then approach her enemy directly, she instead opted for a more manipulative approach to hide her identity. She went to the hospital which held a comatose General Ross and possessed his body. Through him, he approached the Generals daughter Betty who was the girlfriend of Doctor Bruce Banner. Once she lulled Betty into a false sense of complacency, the Hybrid attacked and possessed Betty in order to use the Hulk to infiltrate sea base.

Using Betty's body, the Hybrid made it appear to Bruce Banner and She Hulk that the S.H.I.E.L.D. sea base was experimenting with a dangerous gamma powered energy core that had the risk of exploding. She convinced the group to infiltrate the base to deactivate it. After entering the base and when Bruce Banner turned into the Gray Hulk, the Hybrid controlled Betty along with She Hulk made their way deeper into the underwater research facility but were discovered by Agent Gabriel Jones. During an apparent confrontation between the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and the Hulk, the Hybrid believed that her mission was in jeopardy and sought to acquire a more combat worthy host. To that end, she kissed the Gray Hulk and abandoned Betty's body in order to possess the gamma mutated body. It was then she revealed her identity to Gabriel Jones and her desire for revenge.

Gray Hulk was defeated at first but once the battle entered the power core room, the Hybrid ambushed her enemies and sent all of them into escape pods leaving her alone with Betty in the sea base. She planned to use the sea base to cause a wave of destruction around the world but the damaged power core threatened to overload. Using Betty to fix it, the Hybrid simply got angered as the situation threatened to spiral out of control. The simple anger resulted in Gray Hulk's transformation into the green Hulk who's transformation expelled the parasitic Hybrid from the gamma mutated body. Her organic mass reassembled into her aquatic form and she attempted to possess Betty in desperation but the Hulk attacked her and sent her flying into the gamma power core which seemingly killed the parasitic mutant creature.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Upon the consumption of her body by the parasitic aquatic organisms, Diana's body was forever changed. She became nothing more then a grayish organic mass of various colours. As the Hybrid, she was capable of merging her mass into a more humanoid shape which resembled that of a monstrous mermaid. She possessed a single tail and a web-like membrane spread beneath her arms.

Powers and abilities

After being consumed by the parasitic hybrid organisms, Diana became the Hybrid and gained the abilities to possess other forms of life thus taking them over. This allowed her to take over one host and another making her capable of infiltrating organizations easily as well as gaining the abilities of a superhuman host. However, this came at the cost of her freedom as the only way she could survive was by parasitism and taking over a living host.

She was capable of moving as an organic liquidish mass around the floor and was capable of reforming herself if her main body was fractured into multiple parts.
