- Hypnotia was created by Ron Friedman with her being voiced by actor Linda Holdahl in the first season and Jennifer Darling in the second season where she made her first appearance in Iron Man "And the Sea Shall Give Up Its Dead".
- The character was an original creation of the 1990s animated Iron Man television series.
- She made her first appearance in comic media in Marvel Action Hour: Iron Man #1 (November, 1994).
