History

The 'Holy Orders of the Emperor's Inquisition was a branch within the Imperium of Man tasked with defeating threats to it.

Overview

Organization

Its agents were known as the Inquisitors who were the last line of defence for the Emperor and Mankind. They are utterly ruthless, and empowered to use any means they deem necessary to complete their work, no matter how drastic those measures may seem.

There exists a number of branches within the Inquisition which include:

  • Ordo Hereticus :
  • Ordo Xenos :
  • Ordo Malleus :

In addition to the above, there also exists several smaller divisions which include:

  • Ordo Sicarius :
  • Ordo Sepuluturum :

The large nature of the organization meant that there were numerous philosophies amongst its many members. Through these philosophies and beliefs were the Inquisitors divided into various factions each of which had different goals compared to their peers. Ultimately, such members were often divided into two categories namely Puritans and Radicals.

The following are the various factions present within the Inquisition:

Puritans

  • Amalathian :
  • Monodominant :
  • Thorian :
    • Ardentites :
    • Horusian :
    • Casophilians :
    • Anomalian Beholders :
    • Revivificators :

Radicals

  • Istvaanians :
  • Recongregators :
  • Xanthites :

Other

  • Polypsykana :
  • Seculos Attendous :

Equipment

Inquisitors commonly carry a wide range of weapons and wargear, so as to be prepared for any threat they might face. Some Inquisitors use outlandish weaponry, taken from defeated foes - exotic hardware, alien guns and daemon-possessed weapons, whilst others feel that this is heretical behaviour in itself. Whatever their Ordo allegiance and radical status, all Inquisitors are knowledgeable, dedicated servants of the Emperor, who serve in His name to defeat the enemies of the Imperium with whatever force they deem necessary.

Members

  • Fyodor Karamazov : a male Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus noted for being an especially uncompromising and ruthless individual amongst the unforgiving ranks of the order. He had a career spanning nearly two centuries leaving a trail of blood and fire from one side of the galaxy to the other. In the field, he commanded operations from his Throne of Judgement that was an ancient walking cathedral that boosts his own strength and power.
  • Gideon Ravenor :
  • Gregor Eisenhorn :
  • Katarinya Greyfax : a female Inquisitor noted for being utterly uncompromising, devoid of mercy or remorse who acted as a self-appointed executioner of any she named heretic. A psyker of some power where her abilities allowed her to detect any lie. This talent allows her to hunt with impunity, knowing that those she condemns have already damned themselves with their tainted thoughts. She was also able to weaponise her hatred of Chaos, projecting it as a crippling pall of fear that forces her victims to their knees.
  • Kyria Draxus : a female Lord Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos who specialised in the hunting and eradication of the Necron threat. She was noted for being pragmatic though long been considered a radical by her peers but none could call even her most drastic actions rash. Her every deed and choice was weighed logically and carefully but when she acted she was relentless and unstoppable. Lord Inquisitor Draxus was armed with an Aeldari shuriken weapon called Dirgesinger and was accompanied by a Wyvach familiar named Shang through which she can channel her psychic energies.
  • Torquemada Coteaz : a male Inquisitor noted for his passionate desire to destroy Daemons with uncompromising force. With spies on every corner and trusted acolytes at his beck and call, Coteaz can outfox and outwit his opponents, leaving them ducking for cover or, more likely, already dead, as their every move is anticipated and intercepted with ruthless efficiency. A competent psyker and noted for being a relentless combatant.
