Biography

Pre-Crisis

In an effort to distract Superman, Michael J. Coram engaged in a plot to keep the Man of Steel off Earth. This allowed his criminal organization to engage in various actions across Metropolis. At police headquarters, Inspector Henderson received the reports of criminal activities across the city where he had an all-points bulletin sent out to find Superman and get his aid. Ultimately, Superman was able to resolve the crisis and help in the capture of Coram along with his criminal associates. (Action Comics v1 #440)

Post-Crisis

Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

Alternate Versions

  • In Superman Smashes the Klan v1 #1 (2019), an alternate version of Inspector Henderson appeared in the setting of a reality set in the Multiverse. This version of Inspector Henderson was an African-American police detective for the Metropolis Police Force. As such, he must endure the typical racism of the era such as when the Lee family thought he was an intruder on their property after it was subject to a Ku Klux Klan attack. He himself was directly targeted by the Klan, including being taken prisoner by them along with Perry White and Lois Lane. Eventually, Henderson was the one who defeated and arrested a corrupt police officer who was assisting the Klan in a mass terrorist attack on a children's baseball game.
