Isotope-8 is an element that features in Marvel Comics.

History

Isotope-8 (ISO-8) was a mysterious element that was shown to inhabit the Multiverse. It was formed from the fires of universal rebirth. (Contest of Champions v2 #2)

Within the Battlerealm, a number of fragments of the crystals formed in that broken section of space-time. The Collector initiated the Contest of Champions where he had his pawns to gather them for him. (Contest of Champions v2 #2)

Overview

Iso-8 appeared as crystals that were pure creative force and it could a person the power to rival a deity. It was described as being the 'raw stuff' of reality. (Contest of Champions v2 #2)

Notes

  • Isotope-8 was created by Offbeat Creations where it made its first appearance in the Playdom Marvel Avengers Alliance video game.
  • It was later introduced into the mainstream Marvel Comics universe in Contest of Champions v1 #1 (2015) and in Ultimates v2 #1 (2015) it was revealed that the substance was also known as Neutronium.

  • In Marvel Avengers Alliance, ISO-8 made its first appearance in the setting of the turn-based social-network video game. Its emergence came as the result of a mysterious event known as the Pulse that saw the manifestation of the element on Earth.
  • In Marvel: Contest of Champions, ISO-8 appeared in the setting of the mobile video game where it was used as an upgrade item.
  • In Marvel: Future Fight, ISO-8 appeared in the setting of the mobile video game where it was used as an upgrade item.
  • In Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, ISO-8 appeared in the setting of the action-adventure video game where it was used as an upgrade item. During the story mode, it was revealed that that the Kingpin had acquired an ISO-8 sphere that was mistaken by Earth's superheroes to be an Infinity Stone that had been scattered on Earth. Loki also showed an interest in the use of ISO-8 and had allied with HYDRA to harvest its power. However, the Red Skull came to betray Loki and used the ISO-8 powered weapons in an attack against Asgard itself.
