- Jack Drake was created by Marv Wolfman and Pat Broderick where he made his first appearance in Batman v1 #436 (August, 1989).
Alternate Versions
- In JLA v1 #108 (2005), an alternate version of the character named Jackson "Rat Eyes" Drake was shown as an inhabitant of the Anti-Matter Universe Earth. He was the head of a syndicate running drugs, numbers and money in Gotham City. Rat-Eyes had worked with Lucius Fox with their children playing together and the pair served Owlman until Jackson failed to fulfil a favour he owned leading to his execution at the hands of Ultraman. This saw his territory fall into Lucius Fox's hands and his son being taken by Owlman.

- In Batman: The Animated Series, the character of Jack Drake was replaced with 'Steven "Shifty" Drake where he appeared in the setting of the DC Animated Universe.
