History
The Jath'Che were a cadre of assassins that served the Shi'ar Empire and tasked with the single minded purpose of acting as protectors for both the Majestor as well as defenders of the M'Kraan Crystal. They consisted of a class of Shi'ar/Mephistoid hybrids that were given this honored priveleged. However, during their service, the emperor was murdered by his own son, D'Ken Neramani who later banished the Jath'Che from his service. These warriors were later exiled to the farming world of Ch'reesharaa. This punishment for a soldier meant that those who were exiled to this fate were sentenced to spend the rest of their days as farmers. However, the cadre learnt to live with themselves in peace on the planet.
When the X-Ternals arrived on their home planet after being teleported there, they met with Jonath who was a member of the Jath'Che. He explained to them of their origins and helped them to battle the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. Jonath himself would later be crystallized by the unstable energies of the M'Kraan Crystal.
They were seemingly decimated, but the Imperial Guard kept them under their watch. (X-Force v2 #5)
Overview
They came to serve as the personal guard of the Shi'ar Emperor. This was until they failed to stop their reigning ruler's assassination. In response, they came to be exiled to a farming world. (X-Men Legends v1 #1)
The world of Ch'reesharaa came to be their new home after they were exiled from the Shi'ar empire. It was a farming world where the empire's greatest warriors led a life as simple farmers. (X-Men Legends v1 #1)

- The Jath'Che were created by Fabian Nicieza and Tony Daniel where they made their first appearance in Gambit and the X-Ternals v1 #2 (February, 1995).
Alternate Versions
- In Gambit and the X-Ternals v1 #2 (1995), an alternate version of the Jath'Che were first introduced in the Age of Apocalypse reality that was designated as Earth-295 in the Multiverse. The Jath'che are a class of Shi'ar/Mephitisoid hybrid that acted as defenders of the M'kraan Crystal. When the emperor of the Shi'ar empire was murdered by his son D'ken, D'ken exiled the Jath'che to the planet Ch'reesharaa to live their lives as farmers. When the X-Ternals teleported to Ch'reesharaa, they met with Jonath, a member of the Jath'che. Jonath explained to them his origins before helping them battle the Imperial Guard. Jonath was then crystallized by the unstable M'kraan Crystal.
