- Jemma Simmons was an original television character created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen where she was portrayed by actor Elizabeth Henstridge in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a regular character.
- The character was introduced into the Marvel Comics Earth-616 universe in S.H.I.E.L.D. v3 (2015).

- In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Jemma Simmons was first introduced in the "Pilot" episode where she was portrayed by actor Elizabeth Henstridge.
- In Ultimate Spider-Man, Jemma Simmons made an appearance in the animated series in the episode "Lizards" where she was voiced by actor Elizabeth Henstridge. Agent Simmons was one of the best S.H.I.E.L.D. tech specialists who along with Fitz designed the training simulator at the Triskelion. During the contagious Lizard outbreak, she along with Fitz were turned into giant humanoid reptiles after an infectious bite but was later returned to normal.

- In Marvel: Future Fight, Dr. Jemma Simmons appeared in the iOS video game and was shown as being a scientist at Stark Industry who hired her 2 years ago where she operated in positioning systems and scanner in multidimensions. It was said that she had a PhD in quantum mechanics and system engineering with an interest in biochemistry at a young age.
