At one point, a second Joker was created known as Joker 2.0 who formed when Joker made use of a cybernetic helmet in order to download money into his own personal account. During a fight with Batman, Joker crashed into a table which shorted te helmet out and created a digital copy of himself into a neary computer. This cyber Joker made a hacker free him thus escaping the Batmans attempts at isolating him into a single computer. Angry at his electronic prison, this Joker demanded to be free and his hacker minion told him of experimental nanobots being constructed at Wayne Enterprises. Using a diversion, this cyber Joker transferred his essence into the nanobots thus becoming a swarm of nanotechnology that could take any shape.

Naming himself Joker 2.0, he attempted to rob numerous banks and locations until he encountered his flesh and blood version. Cyber Joker believed himself superior but stated that they would join forces though he crossed his fingers. While robbing a bank, he abandoned his original to the police and attempted to kill him though the Batman fought against him. At this point, Joker 2.0 had developed numerous abilities such as replication, transforming into a cloud of dust, regenerating parts of his body, creating weapons from his body such as blades or missiles as well as growing in size. He was capable of using parts of his body to infiltrate objects.

This version was deleted when his mind was transferred from his nanobot body into a computer game where it got terminated by Robin's video game character Nightwing.
