History
The Jove Empire was an interstellar nation formed during humanity's colonisation of the New Eden cluster. Their ancestors were some of the last to make the journey where they arrived in spaceships of relatively basic design. These vessels had warp drives that could only attain velocities that were marginally greater than light speed with the colonists having to rely on cryostasis to make the travel. This saw their ships coming to establish their society in the Utopia system of the Heaven constellation.
Despite active efforts, very little was known about the history of the Jove Empire.
The Jovians were said to had been responsible for the introduction of capsule technology to the Caldari.
At the Battle of Vak’Atioth, an entire Amarrian invasion force was laid to waste by a single Jovian mother ship.
It the was the Jove who took an active role in shaping interstellar society and the CONCORD Assembly.
In recent times, the Jove were noted to had become withdrawn and reluctant to intervene in the affairs of other empires.
Overview
In appearance, the Jove Empire was an interstellar government that formed in the New Eden cluster by human colonists that came to evolve into a separate subspecies over time.
Its citizens were noted for their unsettling appearance as though they were humans their forms could seem quite alien to others. This was de to their distinctive skin texture, disturbingly symmetrical facial features, and lustrous black eyes. These traits were due to having practiced genetic manipulation of their population for millennia.
Interactions with the Jovians had them appear almost inhuman in their lack of emotion yet they were clearly driven by powerful impulses kept under careful control. The Jovian disease was a deadly genetic malady that afflicted the race and resulted in a small population.
As such, the Jove Empire had always been a mystery to the other nations of New Eden. The Jove had a relatively small population compared to the other interstellar powers with this being due to suffering from the Jovian disease.
They were notable for their technological superiority as they had a large role in shaping New Eden in the last century. Their technology outmatched everything available to the core empires by orders of magnitude.
The territory claimed by the Jove Empire itself was spread across two regions on the edges of the New Eden cluster.
