Biography
Kanade Uryu (Japanese: 生流奏, Hepburn: Uryū Kanade?)
He came to attend Joso Academy where his grandfather served as the headmaster.
At some point, Kanade's younger sister died and he kept her remains frozen at Joso Industries Heavy Chemicals Technology Development Site. He continued to care deeply for her and on her birthday brings her flowers.
After he was given his abilities as a god candidate, Kanade decided to become a hero to bring justice to the world. However, it was all but a ploy for him to set his plan of finding and killing other god candidates into motion for his personal gain. After acquiring a replica of the TV superhero Metropoliman's suit, Kanade officially took on the name Metropoliman, and began masquerading as real-life version of the superhero.
At one point, Kanade was alerted to a bank robbery, and decided to intervene and try to save the hostages that had been taken by the robbers. After shooting the police officers stationed outside the bank with his red arrow, Kanade approached the bank, using his red arrow to force one of the robbers to surrender. Another robber inside the bank opened fire, but missed Kanade, and only succeeded in killing his own comrade. Angered, Kanade attacked the remaining robber, using his white arrow to kill him instantly.
While Tonma Rodriguez was with numerous women who he had used his red arrow to control, Kanade, wearing his armor to hide his identity, broke into Tonma's limousine and murdered him with a white arrow. As the girls under Tonma's control came to their senses and began to flee, Kanade looked on from atop a nearby building and condemned Tonma for using his powers in such a selfish manner.
While admiring his arrow the next day, Kanade decided with his angel that the quickest way to become the next God would be to kill the rest of the god candidates.
He later appeared on a news broadcast, where he was interviewed about his exploits as a real-life hero, and provided commentary as the news station aired footage of him stopping the bank robbery. When asked what his goals were, Kanade declared that he had two goals: to bring peace to the world, and to find and defeat his twelve enemies who had come to earth from Celestial realm referring to the other god candidates.
After the interview, Kanade returned to his home, where he was greeted by his angel. While taking off his suit, Kanade noted that his high school entrance ceremony was the next morning, and commented on how 'cool' it was that he, the superhero Metropoliman, was in reality a high school student.

Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Kanade Uryu was a slender 16 year old human male with wavy white hair, narrow eyes, long lashes, and a slim heart-shaped face. Upon becoming God Candidate, he decided to adopt the form of a costumed superhero where he took the name Metropoliman (メトロポリマン, Metoroporiman?). None of his body or features were visible while wearing the Metropoliman suit, which keeps his true appearance a secret from the public. When he was not tending to his duties as Metropoliman, he wore the Joso High School uniform in school and an all-black outfit at home.
Kanade is shown to be callous towards other humans and he is able to easily take the lives of others without a second thought. It has also been shown that he has no problem with using his red arrow to take advantage of others. He is very smart and calculative. He pretended to become a Hero of Justice, make up a fake story just to fool the media and other candidates into his story so he can set up a trap for the candidates to take them out.
His wealthy upbringing nurture his arrogant and sadistic personality. He has a particular disliking of ugly things and only loves himself and his sister. He looks down on people and comes up with derogatory name for other god candidates such as labeling Hajime Sokotani as a cockroach because of his poor social standing and ugly visage and admits that he enjoys seeing Hajime die. He also has no problem threatening a young god candidate in a public execution he created and urges her to beg for her life louder to tempt more candidates to fall into his trap.
Kanade has also displayed a somewhat childish personality, demonstrated by his decision to model himself after a TV superhero, and even going so far as to comment on how "cool" it was that he, a normal high school student, was leading a double-life as a superhero.
He was shown to treat his minions like they were trash as soon as they became useless to him.
Kanade Uryu was noted to have had a younger sister by the name of Rea Uryu (生流怜愛, Uryu Rea?). He had been very caring of his younger sister by filling her room with flowers and assisting her in various activities. Kanade demonstrated his love for his younger sister by decorating her room with flowers and aiding her in numerous hobbies. Despite his strong affection for his younger sister, he is seen to have an obsessive and possessive relationship with her, viewing her as 'beautiful and flawless' in his own eyes. At some point, Rea notifies her brother that she began to develop feelings for a boy at school after being invited to go on a date, which causes Kanade to lose his mind, believing that Rea would be "tainted and unclean" and that their relationship will be wrecked because of her socioeconomic standing. Kanade tries to reason with her as she runs away from him and insists that he let her free. She stumbles backwards after being freed from Kanade's clutches, leading her to fall from the building and finally smacking the back of her head on a stoned step before being cushioned by the bushes. Kanade rushes to her help, yelling her name, and Rea responds that she is alright, then informs him that everything is getting dark as her pupils fade away. Kanade considers calling a doctor to save her life but determines that she would be "tainted" even more by people like them. He plans to keep her corpse in a freeze chamber so that she can remain "beautiful and pure" to him. Struggling to cope with the knowledge that he has lost his only sister, he plans to end his own life in order to be with her again, until he is met by Meyza, the Angel of Greed, who gives him the opportunity to become God and see his little sister again.
Uryu came to be chosen as a God Candidate leading to him gaining a special rank angel named Meyza (メイザ, Meiza?) who was the Angel of Greed and came to be his close companion. Meyza had short hair with one small section in the middle of her head completely shaved off. Like all other angels, she had long white wings and a large glowing halo above her head. Kanade and his angel seem to get along with both of them agreeing that Kanade should attempt to kill all the other god candidates to become God as fast as possible.
Powers and abilities
Originally, Uryu was an ordinary human being with no special abilities.
He would come to be one of the God Candidates (神の候補, Kami no kōho?) that were to compete with one another to replace God. This saw him being chosen by the Meyza (メイザ, Meiza?) the Angel of Greed. The angel came to impart on him a number of superhuman abilities so that he could achieve his goals. Among these was being given Wings (翼, Tsubasa?) that gave him 'freedom' to fly anywhere in the world. They also allowed him to travel at speeds that were faster than the human eye. In addition, he was given the power to manifest Arrows (矢印, Yajirushi) that had special powers inherent in them. The first were the 'red arrows' that could force anyone shot with it to fall in love with the user for 33 days. The second type were the 'white arrows' that had the power to instantly kill anyone shot with it. Kanade also has the ability to fire two arrows with a 0.33 second delay between firing by materializing the second arrow right after the first.
