Biography
The King of Despair (Japanese: 絶望王, Hepburn: Zetsubō-ō) was a mysterious being who was a member of the Thirteen Kings.
He was spying on Leonardo Watch at a crushed Dianne's Diner. Several days later, in Episode 4, he approaches Leo again on the subway, talking with him about the population within Hellsalem's Lot while also warning him about the Blood Breed. He seems to be acquainted with The King of Depravity. The King Of Despair is seen donning a blue overcoat as he walks into Femt's hall, shouting at the other ghouls that it's now his turn. He mentions that it's his turn to bring about the Great Collapse, as he's found 'it'.
Overview
Personality and attributes
He was able to possess a variety of hosts with his appearance thus varying depending on the body he had taken over. Since the Great Collapse, he shared a body with Black.
The King Of Despair was a laid back figure shown to be cunning, and had little respect for others. He had an affinity for twisting peoples emotions against themselves, which he shows no remorse to.
According to Femt, he has existed ever since ancient Rome, and has been given many names by humanity such as "The Fallen", "Blue", "The King of Despair", "The Devil," "Satan," and "Watchman".
The King of Despair had a habit of whistling a certain tune.
Powers and abilities
As a supernatural being, he had the power of taking over the body of another being and using it as a host.
The King of Despair was able to use William's psychic powers, and is shown to be much more powerful. He is capable of killing without even a single touch, and is able to move masses of rubble ten times his body size. He was able to go hand to hand with Klaus Von Reinherz, the leader of Libra, and finally defeat him in combat with relative ease.
He was part of a group called the Thirteen Kings (13王, 13 Ō) that were a faction of particularly dangerous people within Hellsalem's Lot.
