Kira Yamato is a male anime and manga character who features in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.

Biography

Kira Yamato (Japanese: キラ・ヤマト) was the biological son of Hibiki and Via Hibiki where he had a fraternal twin sister named Cagalli.

Enrolled at Heliopolis technical college, his talent as a highly skilled computer programmer meant that he assisted in research and development whilst also being a student at the institution.

After the war, he moved to the secluded Marshall Islands in order to live in peace. He and Lacus over a two year period were noted to had assisted Reverend Malchio and Kira's adoptive mother with their orphanage.

Overview

Personality and attributes

It was said that even from childhood that he was always a bit of a 'cry baby'.

In battle, he was known to experience moments where he fell into a berserker-like rage.

After being given to the Yamato's, he was adopted by his aunt with his adoptive mother being Caridad Yamato and father was Haruma Yamato.

One of his most treasured items was a robotic pet bird called Birdy (トリィ, Torī) that had been a gift from his friend Athrun.

Kira was said to had a soft spot for Flay Allster and thought she was cute. At the time, she came to be involved with his friend Sai Argyle where the two were a couple.

Powers and abilities

He lacking any true form of military training but his fighting ability developed quickly and greatly over time through combat.

His nature as a Coordinator meant that he was a highly skilled Mobile Suit pilot. It was these traits that allowed him to pilot the highly advanced GUNDAM GAT-X105 Strike (GAT-X105 ストライク). He later came to possess an even more advanced Mobile Suit which was the ZGMF-X10A Freedom (ZGMF-X10A フリーダム).

  • Kira Yamato was created by Mitsuo Fukuda and Chiaki Morosawa where he featured in the setting of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.
