Klaxosaur

Klaxosaurs are a species that feature in Darling in the Franxx.

History

Klaxosaurs (叫竜 Kyoryū) were traced to a species known as the Klaxo sapiens that was a highly intelligent and technologically advanced race that once inhabited Earth over sixty million years ago. During this time, they encountered an extraterrestrial race known as the VIRM. They had arrived on Earth and offered to merge with the Klaxo sapiens to become a single life form. The Klaxo sapiens refused leading to a massive war being fought between the two sides with this lasting several centuries that thousands of lives. The larger VIRM had an advantage over their foes but were outnumbered by the Klaxo sapiens use of technology as well as evolution. To combat their foe, they created the Klaxosaurs as they gradually evolved to fight the VIRM but this came at the cost of their reproductive organs. After this prolonged period of fighting, the VIRM were defeated and forced to retreat back into space though the Klaxosaurs came to anticipate the return of their ancient enemy. Thus, the Klaxosaurs drove themselves deep into the Earth's core in order to recuperate and prepared for the return of the VIRM.

Overview

In appearance, Klaxosaurs were large monstrous beings that came in a variety of shapes and forms with them typically being larger than humans. Their forms could vary as some were large four legged reptilians whilst others were more insectoid or even gigantic worm-like creatures. Common characteristics were their jet-black skin that was broken up by portions that were coloured blue. When wounded, these beings were known to bleed a blue-coloured blood. A Klaxosaur could not be killed unless its core was removed form its body with these being spherical organs that when removed caused the giant creature to die.

It was known that they were attracted to sources of magma energy.

There were various types of Klaxosaurs that included:

• Conrad-class (コンラッド級) : the smallest class with them being smaller than a Franx but being much larger than a human.
• Mohorovic-class (モホロビチッチ級) :
• Gutenberg-class (グーテンベルク級) : these were among the larger classes with them towering over the plantations and some able to change form such as to that of giant cubes or morph into a somewhat humanoid form.
• Super Lehmann-class (超レイマン級) :
