The Knight Sabers are a team that features in Bubblegum Crisis.

History

The Knight Sabers were a team of armored mercenaries recruited by Sylvia Stingray to battle the corruption of the Genom Corporation that had dominated Mega Tokyo and were responsible for her father's death.

Overview

In appearance, the Knight Sabers were a mercenary team of four young women who operated as vigilantes. To enhance their natural abilities, they each wore a power armour suit tat was known as a hard suit. Each of its members were a specialist in a different field. The goal of the Knight Sabers was tied to their founder Sylvia Stingray who wanted to avenge her fathers death at the hands of the Genom Corporation. Thus, the Knight Sabers worked to oppose the corrupt practices of the mega-corporation that dominated Tokyo.

In order to finance their activities, the Knight Sabers also accepted paying jobs as bodyguards or mercenaries. Their main activity though was fighting out-of-control Boomers which were half biological/half-mechanical robots built by Genom.

In their civilian guises, each character had a signature vehicle that was strongly associated with them.

Notes

• The Knight Sabers were created by Toshimichi Suzuki where they featured in the setting of Bubblegum Crisis.
• In Tokyo 2040, their armours are reworked Boomers with the Cores removed and are modelled around Sylia. Any weapon or foe that affects Boomers, such as Galatea, also affects their armour. Tokyo 2040 also revealed that there was a previous team of Knight Sabers, personally led by Sylia, but they were killed in action.

• In Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, the Knight Sabers appeared in the setting of the re-imagined reboot anime television series.
