Biography

Kong Kenan was a male Chinese human born in the modern age as the son of Kong Zhongdan. (New Super-Man v1 #1)

They were then approached by the first American-style Chinese supervillain known as the Blue Condor. Rather than run away, reacted unexpectedly by throwing a tin can at his target's head. Blue Condor decided to leave the scene instead of continuing the fight with this incident witnessed by many bystanders. This saw Kong being hailed a hero by the people and him becoming a celebrity on the news. One of those approaching him was a reporter named Laney Lan with Kong taking an interest in her. (New Super-Man v1 #1)

He then visited his mother's grave where he was approached by Dr. Omen of the Ministry of Self-Reliance. She had come to recruit him to take part in an experiment to give him the powers of Superman. Travelling to Oriental Pearl Tower, he was given a containment suit as he entered into the origin chamber that was to give him his abilities. (New Super-Man v1 #1)

Originally, Kong Kenan was an ordinary human being with no special skills of abilities. This changed when he took part in an experiment by the Ministry of Self-Reliance that was to impart on him abilities similar to that of Superman. (New Super-Man v1 #1)

He was provided a containment suit that was to help him control his powers. (New Super-Man v1 #1)
