The Koo Foo are large Humanoid shaped insectoids that featured in an episode of the same name in Butt-Ugly Martians.

History

The Koo Foo were an ancient race of cosmic marauders that existed two thousand Earth years ago and were known to raid planet after planet. They were considered a form of space pirates and the best at the time. Their exploits became legendary and it was believed that they were close to conquering the galaxy - destroying entire planets in their path. It was noted that no one was capable of stopping them, not even the Martian fleet. However, at some point the species simply vanished and disappeared into legend. No one ever knew what happened to them and none of there ships were ever discovered. Their history was later told as stories were they became a form of bogeyman to scare people.

A single Koo Foo battleship crashed onto the planet Earth where it became buried beneath the sands of Egypt for thousands of years. It was later discovered by Humans explorers who uncovered the top of the vessel and they mistook it for a pyramid. Legends among the Martians stated that these vessels were filled with hitech equipment as well as treasure. This lone member of the race had actually left the Swarm and somehow crashed on the planet. After being awakened, it was attacked by the three Martians while the Koo Foo was protecting Angela. This lone Koo Foo was nearly killed by the Martians until Angela made them realize that it was only trying to leave in peace.

The Koo Foo's ship was repaired and e left the planet to parts unknown. The fate of the rest of his kind is unknown.

Background

The species were known to be quite tall with their computer consoles and equipment matching their height. They possessed a hard brownish armor with parts of it being grayish which was typically at the limbs as well as a domed shaped head with two yellow eyes though no apparent mouth. A single circular shaped object is present at the creatures forehead. A chittering sound of mandibles move can be heard from the creature. At the back of their heads appear tendrils that serve as a form of hair with four such structures decorating their heads. They had long limbs with their hands containing three clawed digits, two at the top with a single digit below. They appeared to also have two smaller limbs at the abdomen but these appear to be vestigial.

The race were capable of communicating through others species by way of telepathy. This made others mistake them in being familiar with their language but infact the Koo Foo require the thought processes of others to be able to communicate. Their bodies were strong enough to resist multiple energy attacks. When attacked in this manner, a Koo Foo is capable of surrounding himself in an energy shield that can reflect such attacks back against their enemies. They were also capable of making energy shields around a small area to protect them from attacks, this seems typically done so around the hand. Their hands were also capable of generating energy blasts, some of which are capable of freezing objects in an amber coloured substance which form geometric shapes.

Koo Foo vessels tended to have an Egyptian style architecture inside with numerous traps that were tasked with dealing with intruders. A single Koo Foo commanded the vessel and were capable of entering into a sarcophagus styled suspended animation chamber within the ship in order to survive the ravages of time. Once inside, they were incapable of being released until a reanimation key was placed within the chamber which caused it to release its occupant. Parts of the vessel seem to react to the Koo Foo by opening chambers without any instruments being activated - this might possible mean that their ships register their pilots telepathy.

Other species like the Martians did not refer to the the Koo Foo with sympathy and believed them all to be brutal. The lone Koo Foo that was discovered was aware of the Martians and immediately recognised them as an enemy. Many members of the race were described to part of the Swarm though some were actually peaceful and did not wish harm on other species.
