Koriel (Baroque)

The Koriel is a group that features in the video game Baroque.

Overview

The Koriel was a group that operated in the 21st century and were actually a splinter organization of the Order of Malkuth. At the time, the Order was led by the Archangel who founded an organization that consisted of False Angels who believed that they needed to save "God"; known as the Absolute God. The Order eventually uncovered the Consciousness Orbs that allowed this being to alter the fabric of reality itself as they were gigantic sensory orbs that were scattered around the world. The Malkuth Order uncovered the artifacts and experimented with them in order to learn more about them as well as the Absolute God. The experimentations on the first subject which was the Archangel's own sister led to the creation of Meta-Beings.

The fracture in the Order Malkuth came when it was realized that the Archangel despised the Absolute God and replaced the Consciousness Orbs with fake versions. This action led to the removal of pain from the Absolute God and the flow of corrupted data into the Consciousness Orbs in order to prevent the entity from fixing the corruption growing within itself. The pain that was generated was later harvested by the Archangel to create the Littles which in turn were used as ammuniton for the Angelic Rifle for use against the Absolute God in order to purify it so that the Archangel could take its place. Upon learning this, a number of individuals of the Order formed the Koriel with the intention of stopping this act. They attempted to perform a Dabar fusion with the Absolute God to rectify the solution but the Archangel learnt of this and interrupted the process which was taking place in the Order's headquarters in the Neuro Tower. This act led to the Blaze, global cataclysm that devastated the Earth on 14th May 2032 which left the world being populated by Meta-Beings who were now trapped within their Baroques.
