History
Life Fibers (生命戦維 Seimei Sen'i?) were sentient parasitic organisms of extra-terrestrial origins that came to Earth thousands of years ago. They arrived on a meteor that contained the Original Life Fiber (原初生命戦維 Genshō Seimei Sen'i?) that brought these organisms to the planet. As Life Fibers spread, the parasitic creatures sought to gain sustenance from life energy from biological organisms and thus sought out the world's native life forms. They discovered primitive humans and began to bond with them but discovered that their hosts could not withstand the strain of the Life Fibers within the body. Thus, the parasites changed their approach and instead began to cover their hosts instead in order to feed on their life energy without instantly killing them. Humanity's ancestors proved to be the ideal hosts as they had the most well developed brains at the time. To better improve their hosts, the Life Fibers began accelerating the evolutionary process of early mankind thus increasing their intellect though this process took many centuries to occur. As a result, the Primordial Life Fiber and all the Life Fibers went into a dormant state but left an evolutionary instinct within humans to cover themselves.
Overview
Life Fibers could be weaved in a number of forms that included:
- Goku Uniforms :
- Kamui :
- COVERS :
A critical component in Life Fiber clothing was the Banshi Thread (絆糸 Banshi?) with this being a Nexus Thread. It was described as a vital Life Fiber that as filled with the desire to become clothing. Such was its importance that it was protected by layers of defensive Life Fibers making it nearly impossible to be located or damaged. Only a select number of individuals could perceive a Banshi and if they had the means of severing it then the garment was destroyed as a result. When destroyed, garments such as Goku Uniforms disintegrated but the Banshi Thread was the last item to survive and could be absorbed by items such as a Kamui. Certain kinds of Kamui could be composed of multiple Banshi Threads that meant that they could survive the severing of a single one.
Through unknown means, it was possible to bond the Life Fibers with a human being creating a hybrid. Such Life Fiber/Human hybrids were noted for being incredibly strong, faster, greater endurance and having the ability to regenerate wounds with the only thing capable of fully killing them being the destruction of their heart.
As space dwelling organisms, the Fibers travelled through space in search for organic life to feed upon as an energy source. Upon finding such a world, the Life Fibers arrived on the planet that contained the potential for intelligent host life. The parasites then proceeded with infecting the native life forms and influencing their development for higher brain functions whereupon they went into a state of hibernation. After centuries, they then enacted the next stage of their life cycle which was taking over the host species before going into orbit to wrap the entire world in their substance with this becoming a Starseed Cocoon Sphere. During this time, they fed on the entire planet as an energy source whilst growing in number with this ultimately destroying the host world in the process. The world's destruction scattered the Life Fibers into space where they continued their life cycle once again as they sought out a new planet.
