Liz Royle

Liz Royle was born Liz Beck and was the niece of archaeologist Professor John Lowson. She accompanied her uncle on his quest to find King John's treasure. During the expedition, she fell in love with her uncle's colleague, Gavin Royle. Instead of John's treasure, the three discovered a monster which they christened the Slime Beast. Liz was nearly killed twice during the ordeal, first by an angry mob from Sutton who blamed the archaeologists for the monster's appearance, and later when the Slime Beast attacked her and Mallard Glover while Glover was attempting to rape her. The creature killed Glover but Liz managed to escape. The monster subsequently killed her uncle before being itself killed by Gavin using a flamethrower. Following the incident, Liz married Gavin. The two had a daughter, Amy. When her husband began suffering PTSD years later, Liz suggested they return to Sutton so he could overcome his fears, only to discover that a second Slime Beast had appeared to terrorize the town.
