Llanfairfach

Llanfairfach was a town in Wales. It had once been home to a thriving coal industry by way of the Llanfairfach Colliery, but by the 1970's, the local mining-based economy was dying, and the town became home to the corporate headquarters of Global Chemicals. Due to Global Chemicals' pumping of toxic waste down into a disused portion of the mine, Llanfairfach came under attack by gigantic maggots who carried a deadly disease. However thanks to the efforts of the Doctor, UNIT and counter-culture biologist Clifford Jones, the town was saved and the maggots destroyed.
