Biography
Norton G. Fester
It was said that he flunked science at school. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #36)
After sighting a fallen meteor, he took a plane to investigate the site where he was the first one of the scene. He took a sample from the scene which he believed would unlock the mysteries of the universe and make him rich. However, he lacked the money to conduct his research and his efforts at securing funding were a failure. Rejected on all fronts, he decided to conduct his own research on the meteor and began chipping at it. It was then that a gas pocket blew in his face that imparted on him superpowers. With these abilities, he decided to adopt a life of crime where he became a costumed criminal called the Looter where he robbed a bank. He began to use his super-strength to the fullest as he began a one-man crime wave. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #36)

Personality and attributes
In appearance, Norton G. Fester was a male human with dark brown hair. When he gained powers, he wore a face-concealed costume and called himself the Looter. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #36)
Fester believed he was too smart to work and too clever to hold down a job. He came to believe that meteors contained microscopic living matter that contained the riddles of the universe. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #36)
The more he took the greedier he became leading to him perpetrating more crimes. After becoming the Looter, Horton said that he was never cut for being a scientist. Instead, he believed that his greatest talent was towards crime. Fester said that he was born to be a master criminal and a super criminal. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #36)
Powers and abilities
In one instance, he was studying a meteor when he was exposed to a gas pocket that imparted on him superpowers. This gave him super-strength where he was able to lift heavy objects with ease and jump over great distances. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #36)
One gadget he used was the dazzle light that he could us to blind others. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #36)
