Biography

Lorien was the first being in the entire galaxy to ever achieve sentience where he was the first and last of his race that stood as the eldest of the First Ones. He and his kind discovered the Vorlons and the Shadows when they were infant races and helped them along.

Lorien spent many millenia on Z'ha'dum waiting for someone to talk to, someone to guide, and caught John Sheridan when he leapt to his death. He taught Sheridan to embrace death, and breathed on the remaining embers to give Sheridan an extra twenty years of life. They returned to Babylon 5 where Lorien helped guide the Army of Light, and later helped to end the Shadow War, before going beyond the Rim with them.

Lorien briefly returned twenty years later, and took Sheridan beyond the Rim.

Overview

Personality and attributes

Though Lorien's initial appearance seems to indicate that he has retained his corporeal form, resembling that of a humanoid, there are several instances in which we see that he has evolved into another state. It is thus assumed that Lorien's true form is that of a tentacled energy being, much like the true appearance of a Vorlon, though more evolved and larger in size. Whether Lorien's original form is a humanoid or a tentacled being is unknown. This energy form is seen on several occasions: first, during Sheridan's dream state on Z'ha'dum, then when Lorien departs the galaxy with the remaining First Ones at the end of the Shadow War, and finally, when he returns to Coriana 6 at the time of Sheridan's death.
