Biography

Luke was born to the Van Helsing family and was the last descendant of Abraham Van Helsing. He was scion of a dynasty of warriors who were tasked with hunting the supernatural creatures that lived in the world who were known as Half Lives. His father served as a hunter of these monsters and worked from the Library of Abraham Van Helsing underneath the city where he had a partner in fellow hunter Rupert Galvin. To protect his family, Luke's father hid his occupation from his family in order to shield them from supernatural threats. As such, they lived by the name of the Rutherford family and Luke lived in ingorance of his true family. During one such hunt of a Half Life, he was killed by the creature and to protect her son, Luke's mother told him he died during a trip.

When he was eighteen years old, he was visited by his godfather Rupert Galvin who took him out in order to reveal to him his destiny as the last of the Van Helsings. At first, he did not believe this and attempted to live his life as normal. But whilst walking with his best friend Ruby, they were ambushed by animalistic creatures and a high ranking Half Life. Despite defeating the animal beasts, he was overpowered by the Human looking Half Life but it was driven off by Glavin who used a pulse gun to scare it away. Thus, Luke agreed to return to the Library and use one of Mina Harker's weapons to help him against the Half Lives. He was forced to confront the vampire Thripp when he used his minions to capture Ruby and was captured but was freed by Glavin. However, Ruby was taken capive by the vampire and Luke fired his weapon which did not harm Humans but only Half Lives which managed to kill Thripp. (EP: They Bite)
