Biography

Jerome Beechman

When he was 10 years old, his parents could no longer bear the burden of him being among them. This led to his father driving him out in the desert and abandoning him out there to die. (Daredevil v1 #110)

Personality and attributes

In appearance, the Mandrill was a human whose features resembled the animal he named himself after. (Shanna the She-Devil v1 #4)

His appearance led to him being picked on and bullied by other children where he said that his childhood was sheer torment. (Daredevil v1 #110)

He claimed that all women loved him and that he was their master. (Daredevil v1 #110)

Mandrill developed a keen sense of kinship with Nekra over their shared origin and the similar problems they experienced in their lives. (Daredevil v1 #110)

  • Mandrill was created by Carole Seuling and Ross Andru where he made his first appearance in Shanna the She-Devil v1 #4 (June, 1973).

  • In The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Mandrill appeared in the setting of the animated television series where he was voiced by actor Fred Tatasciore.
  • In M.O.D.O.K., the Mandrill appeared in the setting of the animated television series starting from the episode "If Saturday Be... For the Boys!" where he was voiced by actor Kevin Michael Richardson.
