Mandroids are a type of technology that feature in Marvel Comics.

History
Mandroids were originally designed by Tony Stark and built for use by S.H.I.E.L.D. The concept was to provide the wearer with extensive offensive options so they could respond to various threats, including those from super-powered humans.
Since then, Mandroid armor has been utilized by several criminals including Moses Magnum.
A Skrull posing as senator H. Warren Craddock sent a squad of three Mandroids to arrest the Avengers when they were branded traitors by the Alien Activities Commission. Iron Man used his knowledge of the Mandroids construction to disable them. (Avengers v1 #95)
Three Mark I Mandroids and two Mark IIs were stolen by Moses Magnum and used by his henchmen as part of his scheme to threaten the Japanese government into crowing him Emperor of Japan. The X-Men, who were in Japan for unrelated reasons, destroyed the Mandroids and foiled Magnum's plans. (X-Men v1 #119) An upgraded version of the Mark I was built by S.H.I.E.L.D. called the Super-Mandroid. This version was taller than the previous model and featured a new array of weaponry. It was used by Col. Glen Talbot in battle against the Hulk. The Super-Mandroid was strong enough to withstand a direct blow from the Hulk, who only managed to put a single crack in it. The Super-Mandroid was torn apart by Captain Marvel in order to save Talbot's life. (Incredible Hulk v1 #246)
During the Armor Wars, S.H.I.E.L.D. came to dispatch Mandroids to apprehend the rogue Iron Man. At this time, Stark came to learn that elements of his technology had been stolen and given to both criminals organizations and government departments. This saw him targeting such groups in order to destroy his pilfered technology with the Mandroids becoming one of his targets. (Iron Man v1 #227)
New York City Mayor J. Jonah Jameson had his administration merge Mandroid technology with the Spider-Slayer technology in order to create the Spider-Slayer Squad. (Amazing Spider-Man v1 #604)
Overview
It was constructed of a titanium alloy that provides enhanced protection from all types of attack; the suit also offers a life support systems. Sensors include infrared scanners and radar/sonar, along with a full-range radio and intercom system. The suits increase the wearer's strength and durability to superhuman levels (a Mandroid once threw a car at Iron Man). The main armament is the array of weaponry: electrostatic beams, lasers, magnetic force "punch-blasters", "neuro-stunners", and tractor/repellor beams.

The Super-Mandroid variant featured an electrified coil stored in the arm, and a blade sharp enough to pierce the Hulk's skin. (Incredible Hulk v1 #245)

- The Mandroids were created by Roy Thomas Neal Adams and John Buscema where it made its first appearance in Avengers v1 #94 (December, 1971).
In other appearances
Television
- In Iron Man, the Mandroids made an appearance in the 1994 animated series in the episode "Armor Wars" though the design of their armor resembled the Guardsman. They were described as an elite unit of armored federal operatives that guarded the high security Vault prison facility. Iron Man targeted them as he came to believe that their armor had been modified with stolen Stark technology.
- In Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Mandroids make appearances in the episodes "Iron Man is Born" and "Hail, Hydra!". They are shown to had been derived from stolen Stark technology used to create armored battlesuits for S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives. In "Welcome to the Kree Empire", a group of Mandroid armor wearing S.W.O.R.D. agents were sent to attack Ronan the Accuser who had come to judge Earth. They served as the back up for Carol Danvers when she transformed into Ms. Marvel where they initially managed to push the Grand Accuser back but the powerful Kree defeated them.
- In Iron Man: Armored Adventures, the episode "Fugitive of S.H.I.E.L.D." showed that international peacekeeping agency had legally purchased the designs of Iron Man's armor from Hammer Multinational. This data was used to create remote operated robots known as Mandroids that were kept onboard the Helicarrier. Iron Man managed to detect his stolen tech when onboard the Helicarrier where he angrily refuses to work with them as a result. S.H.I.E.l.D. at the time was in pursuit of the stolen Project Hybrid data and believed Iron Man was responsible leading to the Mandroids being dispatched to apprehend him. Five of the robots were knocked offline by Iron Man whereby General Fury ordered a retrieval team to reboot them and make them functional again. They later attack Iron Man and War Machine who destroy the robots. In "Rage of the Hulk", they were deployed under orders from Thaddeus Ross who ordered six of them to attack the Incredible Hulk who was knocked unconscious by their assault. The Mandroids were later used to take the Hulk into the Fallout Siphon in order to drain the Gamma Effect from his body.
Film
- In Iron Man: Rise of Technovore, Mandroids were shown as being drones created by Tony Stark for S.H.I.E.L.D. Dozens of such drones were dispatched to apprehend Iron Man after he refused to surrender himself into custody. These drones were all destroyed by Iron Man with Stark saying that he would work on their AI in the future as they were defeated too easily.
