In other media

Television

  • In Justice League Unlimited, the character made an appearance in the episode "Question Authority" where he was voiced by J. K. Simmons in an uncredited role. The villain arrived in Metropolis where he battled Superman and Captain Atom as he sought to claim Earth as his own after the apparent death of Darkseid. Mantis was listed as one of the warlords that emerged in the aftermath who fled the civil war on Apokolips in order to claim an easier target such as Earth. He was beaten by Superman and Captain Atom by opening a Boom Tube where he was thrown in after which the Mother Box was destroyed to prevent his return. In "Alive", he made a cameo appearance during the civil war on Apokolips where he stood among the forces of Virman Vundabar against Granny Goodness's army with that conflict ending when the reborn Darksid returned to claim leadership once more.
  • In Batman: The Brave and the Bold, the character made an appearance in the episode mini-story teaser in "Cry Freedom Fighters!" where he was voiced by Wade Williams. He would attack a cul-de-sac and engage the superhero Stargirl with the battle prolonging to the point that she used her cosmic staff to send a Bat-Signal to call Batman but ended up getting support from Blue Beetle. The pair's combined efforts were used to overload Mantis's energy absorbing powers that led to his defeat. In "Darkseid Descending!", he would make a return appearance where he stood among Darkseid's forces that began their invasion of Earth.
