Biography

To society, he was known as an entrepreneur with his business renovating a number of old buildings in the city.

He discovered that Zack Starr was a spy in his House and decided to eliminate him. This saw him call Starr with the promise of turning him into a vampire but he instead had him shot in the head at an isolated location. Through the Familiars in the police, they spun the event of Zack Starr being involved in drugs and gangs that led to his demise.

At Chthon's American Butcher warehouse, he was present for the Aurora Project baseline trial on a captive vampire designated G1139 where the subject died in the experiment. He later attended the public Van Sciver House Gallery where he first met Krista Starr. She later attempted to kill him with a sniper rifle but was instead captured where she was taken to the House of Chthon alive. Once there, he made preparations for having Krista turned into a vampire.

An Evaluator from Chthon later came to the House in order to see the successful product of the Aurora Project in Fitz. After examining Fitz, he was ready to return but made a visit to the Meanus club only to be killed by the Asher Cain. Marcus later killed the mistress in charge of the club after learning that she had allowed the Ashers to run rampant and unchallenged. Van Sciver later received a call from Charlotte about the progress of Aurora and she expressed her displeasure at Blade interfering in their operations. The Board desired the successful product of Aurora to be presented to them at Aurora and were not going to send another Evaluator. Marcus decided to send Fitz to Prague to showcase Aurora and believed that this would keep him safe from Blade. However, Fitz disobeyed orders and instead of journeying to the airport he confronted Blade. To prevent Blade from capturing him, Krista Starr killed Fitz which prevented the Daywalker from studying him. Krista was badly wounded in the incident and Marcus had her recovered in order to be treated.

However, he felt that Zack was a waste of life as he was a person that took from the world and did not contribute. Thus, he stated his death was better off for the world. He had a different view on his twin sister Krista Starr as he felt that the opposite of him as she was everything that he was not.
