Martian

Definition

"Martian" means "coming from or pertaining to the planet Mars". Martian species and races are numerous, despite the somewhat lifeless outer appearance of the red planet.

Types

The Martian warlords from War of the Worlds are tentacular monstrosities akin to something from the works of H.P. Lovecraft, whereas the Martian races encountered by John Carter, the Warlord of Mars are for the most part not just humanoid but in fact hominid, being interfertile with Earth native Humans.

The Martian warlords of Red Drums are somewhat reptilian humanoids with three eyes, and inasmuch as they animate the dead to create a zombie army are similar to the Mysterons battled by Captain Scarlet.
