Biography

Matt Dillon

He came to be a battle-hardened United States Marshal assigned to enforce federal law in the violent, chaotic frontier settlement of Dodge City, Kansas. Standing on Boot Hill overlooking the local cemetery, he reflected deeply on the heavy, grim reality of his position, noting that the lawless territory was a breeding ground for desperate men seeking a fast reputation. His peace-keeping duties took an immediate turn for the worse when a cold-blooded and lightning-fast gunslinger named Dan Grat arrived in town and gunned down a visiting sheriff. Stepping onto the main street to arrest the killer, Matt was thoroughly outmatched by Grat's blinding quick-draw speed and was left critically wounded on the ground. Following a painstaking recovery period under medical care, a determined Matt ignored the cautious warnings of the townsfolk and cornered the arrogant outlaw inside a local hotel for a dramatic rematch. Calculating that Grat needed close quarters to retain his accuracy edge, Matt stood his ground, outdrew the villain in a split-second exchange, and shot him dead to firmly re-establish order in Dodge City.
