Television

  • In Lucifer, Mazikeen appeared in the setting of the live-action television series where she was portrayed by actress Lesley-Ann Brandt. Mazikeen, frequently referred to as 'Maze' for short, was the confidant and devoted ally of Lucifer Morningstar. Forged in the bowels of Hell to torture the guilty for all of eternity", Maze was an archdemon who, after having served for eons as his head torturer, accompanied Lucifer 'through the gates of Hell', up to Earth five years prior ago, where her first act, at Lucifer's instructions, was to cut off his angel wings with her twin Karambit-esque knives 'forged in Hell'. Mazikeen was working as an assistant and enforcer for Lucifer, and also working as a bartender in Lucifer's nightclub, Lux. She assisted Lucifer in various tasks and occasionally helped him with cases. She met her first human friend, Trixie Espinoza. She later decided to leave Lucifer. She ended up sharing an apartment with Chloe Decker and Chloe's daughter, Trixie. For a while she was searching for a job before deciding to become a bounty hunter, using the name "Mazikeen Smith". She finds joy in working as a bounty hunter because it lets her hunt down humans and get paid at the same time. Mazikeen is allowing her growing circle of acquaintances to call her 'Maze,' and her connection to Trixie and Linda is causing her to question her "soulless" status and detachment. Maze decides to focus more on Linda and she starts to look for a love interest causing her to develop a crush on Eve. Maze tries to figure out where Lucifer Morningstar's ring is from. She convinces Trixie to ask Lucifer about his ring. She finds out that he got it from her mother and never told her, making her feel betrayed. She searches for Lilith whom she meets but dies soon afterward. Angry at Lucifer and her mother, she allies with Michael to hurt Lucifer. Maze is set to become the Queen of Hell but decides against it after a dinner with Eve, Linda and Amenadiel. She also gets engaged to Eve after working out problems in their relationship with Linda's help. In "My Best Fiend's Wedding", Maze is particularly upset with the arrival of Adam. She gets into a fight with Eve shortly afterward and they break off their relationship for a short while till Lucifer helps them reunite. They are then married. In "Save the Devil, Save the World", Maze shows up halfway through her wedding night to help Lucifer, Chloe, Dan, Ella and Linda go through Linda's book about Lucifer hoping to find some insight on how to solve Lucifer's "wing problem" and also tries to help Dan find the source of his guilt. In "Goodbye, Lucifer", we see that Maze and Eve are about to head out on their honeymoon. In "Partners 'Til the End", we see Maze and Eve chasing a bounty together and then coming to Chloe's apartment to visit her and the newborn Aurora Morningstar.
  • In The Sandman, Mazikeen appeared in the setting of the 2022 live-action television series where she was portrayed by actress Cassie Clare. Mazikeen was present when Morpheus arrived at Lucifer's palace to demand his helm back. During the Oldest Game, in which her master and Morpheus dueled using metaphorical attacks, she displayed concern whenever Lucifer was hurt. When Choronzon refused to give back Morpheus's helm after Lucifer forfeited, Mazikeen took the helm from him and tossed him off the balcony to the hordes of demons below. He then gave Morpheus his helm back. Afterward, Mazikeen informed Lucifer that Azazel had come to discuss an offer from the demon lords, and listened with the Morningstar to the plan to launch an invasion on the Silver City. After Azazel left, Mazikeen stated that Azazel could not be trusted.
