At some point, he was known to had made friends with the Fairy Folk who gave him a magical lantern. (Superfriends v1 #8)

Post-Crisis

Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. Daniel Cormac

As a child, he was noted to had met one of the Fairy-Folk with this being Fergus who was a Fir Dhearga. This friendship eventually led to the Fairy Queen Maeve gifting Daniel a magical lantern. (DC Comics Presents v1 #46)

At some point, he came to make an enemy in Dubh Magus who operated as the greatest villain in Ireland with the two having a number of clashes over the years. Green Lantern was known to had encountered Jack O'Lantern and had good words to say about Jack O'Lantern. (DC Comics Presents v1 #46)

After many years service with the team Thunderlord and his fellow Global Guardians were brainwashed by Queen Bee to become the nation of Bialya's own superhero team. To keep the team in the public eye Queen Bee has the the team sent to work with the Justice League Europe fight an invading alien robot. Queen Bee by had the robot created by a member of the Dominators. (Justice League Europe Annual v1 #1)

Noronsa accidentally kills Little Mermaid, and the Justice League are blamed. While other members of the League arrive to help the international incident.Sumaan destroys the brainwashing facility, killing many innocent civilians. Ice manages to save most of the people but Norona is killed. The Queen is shot and killed by Sumaan, who then usurps the leadership of the country.(Justice League Europe v1 #30)

Overview

In appearance, Jack O'Lantern was a masked superhero who was tied to a mystical lantern and whose name stemmed from Irish legend. These spoke of a man who was not good enough for heaven nor bad enough for hell so he wandered the Earth with a lantern. (Superfriends v1 #8) This legend was used as a means for people to explain the Ignis Fatuus (Will O'The Wisp). (DC Comics Presents v1 #46)

The power of Jack O'Lantern was tied to magical lantern which came from the Fairy Folk. (Superfriends v1 #8) The mystical lantern was a gift from the Fairy Queen that conferred magical powers to the bearer. It was said that its power was at its height at midnight. (DC Comics Presents v1 #46)

One power given to the bearer was the Pishogue that allowed them to generate realistic illusions of things that were not there. This proved to be an effective skill to distract or scare opponents. (Superfriends v1 #8)

An ability of the lantern was the power to move things from one place to another through teleportation. (Superfriends v1 #8) With its power, he was able to teleport others away to safety. (DC Comics Presents v1 #46)

The mystical lantern that gives them the power of flight, flame projection, teleportation, illusion casting, enhanced strength, and the ability to create fogs. The power of the lantern is at its weakest at noon, and gradually increases to its peak at midnight.

The original Jack O'Lantern was known to had been accompanied by one of the Sidhe Fairy-Folk. Fergus was a Fir Dhearga who had been friends with Cormac since he was a child. (DC Comics Presents v1 #46)
