Mechanus (Doctor Who)

Mechanus was a planet intended as an Earth colony to which the Mechanoids were sent. As per their programming, they constructed a large settlement on the planet, but when their human masters never appeared, they developed a degree of independence. Steven Taylor, later a companion of the First Doctor, crashlanded on Mechanus and spent some time as the "guest" of the Mechanoids.
