History

Meisters (Japanese: 職人, Hepburn: Shokunin) were humans that were skilled in soul resonance and were paired off with partners that could take the form of weapons with the pair together in battle. They were formally trained after Lord Death established the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA) who fought against various threats in the world.

The first demon weapons were created 800 years ago. Both Eibon and Death sought a way to even the odds in the strife between witches and humans when their magical power wreaked havoc. Inspired by Excalibur, Eibon sought to create the Demon Weapons. Both he and Death agreed to do so, and learned that demon weapons required the use of a witch's soul.

Overview

In appearance, Meisters were warriors who fought and battled using the weapon forms of demon weapons that were people capable of transforming into traditional weapons. As individuals with exceptional wavelengths, they were paired up with Weapons should both them possess a compatible wavelength. This is based on the personalities of the potential meister and weapon. Should they be compatible, the individual would be able to utilize their chosen partner with ease. However, if one's wavelength was not compatible, dangerous effects from the rejection can result in injury and possibly death in extreme cases. Meisters can vary in race and even to animals such as the likes of apes.

All Meisters were capable of some key abilities that included:

  • Soul Perception (魂感知, Tamashī Kanchi) :
  • Soul Resonance (魂の共鳴, Tamashī no Kyōmei) :
  • Wavelength Control (波長コントロール, Hachō Kontorōru) :
  • Soul Menace (魂威, Kon'i) :
  • Adjust (相殺, Sōsai) :
  • Great Traditional Techniques of the Scythe-Meister (鎌職人伝統の大技, Kamashokunin dentō no ōwaza) :
  • Super Soul Perception (超魂感知, Chō Tamashii Kanchi) :

  • Utility Meister (万能職人, Bannō Shokunin) :
  • Genius Meister (天才職人, Tensai Shokunin) :
  • Scythe-Meister (鎌職人, Kama Shokunin) :
